Hindi movies allure me even now, be it a commercial flick or something called parallel. I remember it was a Vikram Bhatt movie named Dangerous Ishque that marked the comeback of KarismaKapoor. DI bombed at the box-office, and Karisma was found to have lost her diamonds. But the movie projected an extremely interesting theme: commissioning a professional, who can hypnotize an individual in order to extract the secrets of previous incarnations. We address them hypnotherapists. I recently came across a clinical hypnotherapist who was also an author. Her name: Binduu Chopra. Aah! — Another interesting aspect as I found that extra ‘u’ in her first name. It was evidently difficult for me to restrict myself from asking her if she would agree to visit my interview desk. Binduu readily agreed without an air, and it was a Thursday evening as we sat together with bundles of excitements.
KiritiSengupta: Hi Binduu! It is my pleasure to have you here. You must be very excited about your forthcoming novel The Woman’s Code. Tell us some from your storyline.
Binduu Chopra: Hi Kiriti! Thank you. It was my dream to have the book-release just before my 50th birthday that I celebrate on the 13th of November, 2013, and I have made it with the blessings of my friends and family. Yes! This gives me a reason to smile out more. It’s a message to our ‘young’ girls that mothers grow old sacrificing a part of them, while either raising a family, looking after the elder through the night, when they would have perhaps wanted to watch a late night movie. Then a time comes, when she is free from her binding duties and needs to fulfill her dreams. Criticism just comes too easy. It is important for them to understand this side of her, because they too will go through the same phase. So her feelings matter- her dreams matter!
Kiriti: The word ‘code’ sounds so formal. Are you pointing to the ‘code of conduct?’
Binduu: Ha ha! Do you want me to let out the ‘code?’ Being a Healer and having counseled many, I want people to understand the importance of understanding a situation, before reacting to it. The book brings about showing how a woman has balanced her relationship, no matter what emotional turmoil she may have gone through, only with her good ‘ conduct’. Kiriti, there I gave you the clue!..
Kiriti: You are a published poet from Delhi. Why did you decide to write this fiction novel?
Binduu: I want to create awareness in the ‘young minds’ as they are our future. Girls have more freedom today than what I had in my times, like wise women of my age. They should also be guided on how to handle their freedom.
Kiriti: You are a clinical hypnotherapist. Can we expect glimpses of your professional attributes in your novel?
Binduu: I had got my PLR done some years back where I saw myself as a care- taker. I see myself like a care – taker again. I owe to the society. The Woman’s Code, shall have a part two to it. I am currently working on it that shall have glimpses about how one is at times succumbed to similar patterns from life to life, and how one can break them by working on them. Part two shall also talk about learning from our experiences, growing with wisdom only to evolve in the next birth.
Kiriti: Your biography reveals that you are an ‘Aura Analyst.’ Could you, please, let us know about this aspect of your life, and how did it influence your writing from time to time?
Binduu: When I was only 14, I started experiencing a ‘heat wave’ or some ‘energy wave’ within me when I visited certain places or was with a few people. I never knew what it was then and would often wave it off. At times, I could feel the energies of my friends around me and felt that I knew what were they going through and was curious to know if my thinking & assessment was right. There have been times when I have been very uncomfortable in certain homes or in the company of some individuals and discussed this with my husband several times. Later, after my interactions with them, I would come to know what was causing this in me. Over the years, my spiritual guidance took me deeper into this experience and I started interpreting what I observed and experienced. It was the activation of the ‘sixth sense’. Soon, my intuition became my guide. Gradually, as I started meditating, I became more aware of the energy within me. I am sure just as me, every Author feels comfortable only at some places inside his/her home or surroundings and that’s the times when the best comes from within him is sure enough to know that the Aura of the place is good and also doesn’t clash with his own Aura at that particular moment.
Kiriti: Well, I’m curious to know: what does an extra ‘u’ serve in your name? I think you must be a follower of numerology. If that is the case, did you get the title (The Woman’sCode) checked by your numerologist?
Binduu: It all began in 2010, when I was struggling to publish my maiden book, A Quest… Beyond the visible, and could not self publish it. I contacted a good numerologist, Sangeeta Anand in New Zealand ( now in Delhi) and she suggested that I add another ‘u’ to my name. It worked well for me and I continue with it. My book was done in the US through a well-wisher who heard me on, Spirit Quest Radio on September 5, 2010 and desired to help me saying that she felt positive energies through me. I am going with the same spirit. I have not contacted anyone after that. Life is beautiful and only getting better each day. God is kind.
Kiriti: What would you like to convey to the aspiring authors? And how was your experience as you worked with KunalMarathe, C.E.O. of Authors Empress India?
Binduu: JUST WRITE! Flow yourself on the sheets is all that I have to say to all the aspiring writers. Be genuine. Your words will touch the right people. Kunal, is a very aggressive boy. He is a visionary and I want to see him grow with the kind of running around he is doing for all his Authors. I have put my trust in him. I know I have exchanged a few messages that he may have not liked- but it is all in the favor of a growing organization. It gives me pride to say that Kunal shall see his great success if he continues to deliver as he has been doing in his recent past. My best wishes are always with him.
Kiriti: Thank you so much, Binduu for giving me time. I wish your novel reaches the pinnacle of success. Keep well.
Binduu: Thank you from the bottom of my Kiriti for your kind words & good wishes. It’s been a real pleasure to exchange these notes with you.
